The Urban Bird Project partners with three SAISD schools:
the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, Longfellow Middle School, and Woodlawn Academy to bring nature & culture programming to SAISD urban schools. Students participate in bi-weekly community science meetings and engage in workshops ranging from avian ecology and field techniques to Mexican-American & Indigenous cultural relationships to birds, land, and community. These intersections culminate in student projects that focus on restor(y)ing our multiple relationships with birds and their habitats.
